Geriatricians:
The Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking academic geriatricians at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level to join a group of geriatricians and GNP’s in the expansion of the teaching and clinical missions to include development and expansion of medical student, resident and geriatric fellow curriculum.  On going scholarly activity and both inpatient and outpatient geriatric care are required.  Salary commensurate with experience.  

Qualifications:
Board certification in family medicine required.  Formal fellowship training preferred, eligible for Texas licensure.  Eligible for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level with at least three years of direct academic experience in an academic department required.  Effective communication skills; excellent health assessment skills; good computer skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative health care team.  Sensitivity to psychosocial issues in health care with an emphasis on ethnic issues.

Salary and Benefits: 
Commensurate with education and experience.

FAMILY PHYSICIAN with OPERATIVE OBSTETRIC SKILLS

The Department of Family & Community Medicine seeks a full-time faculty physician with experience in obstetrics and a passion for maternity care.  The applicant should have delivery room skills, operative obstetric skills, and a commitment to family-centered maternity care.  Fellowship training in Maternal & Child Health (or similar program) is highly desirable.  Board-certification in Family Medicine is required.  Appointment will be at rank of Assistant/Associate/Professor commensurate with experience.

The Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center is recruiting for clinical faculty positions.  Full-time to part-time physicians are needed with a broad range of skills in providing acute care services, as well as continuity care, for our culturally diverse patients. These positions will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level as is appropriate per the successful applicant’s experience.  Opportunities for teaching medical students and family medicine residents are available.  Labor and delivery skills are highly desirable. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS/ NURSE PRACTITIONERS

 The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has openings for 

Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners full-time or part-time with the Department of Family and Community Medicine in their outpatient clinics.  These positions will hold an appointment of Faculty Associate.  Applicants should be prepared to manage a wide range of primary care and minor trauma, and have a broad understanding of the acute management of chronic problems such as Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD/Asthma, and CHF/Coronary Disease.  Ability to work a flexible schedule is preferred.  Salary is competitive.  Excellent benefits package available if employed more than 20 hours/week.
