The patients at the CMA North clinic are a diverse group of adults often with many chronic comorbidities. Many of the patients speak Spanish only, offering an opportunity to improve your Spanish while have a safety-net of bilingual employees to assist you. Students are supervised by a variety of Family Medicine faculty.
The clinic runs at a fast pace illustrating the real world challenge of addressing the acute problems, chronic conditions and providing prevenative care in a 15 minute visit. Students see a patient mix of approximately 70% Carelink, 10% Medicare, 15% Medicaid and 15% other pay mix.
