The Family Care - Family Practice Center is a clinical training site operated by the South Texas Coastal Area Health Education Center to enhance the health status and quality of life for the people of South Texas by improving the education supply and distribution of health care professionals. The Family Care - Family Practice Center provides quality patient care while ensuring quality education for Family Practice residents and medical students.
The FPC has 2 clinics that run Monday - Friday 8:30am - 12:00pm and 1:30pm - 5:00pm. The clinics are located on the 4th and 6th floors of the outpatient side of the hospital. The 4th floor clinic is the resident clinic, while the 6th floor clinic is the faculty clinic. Students will have the opportunity to see all types of patients while supervised by a variety of Family Medicine faculty and residents. A total of 32 students per year typically go to Corpus Christi for their Family Medicine clerkship.
