During a rotation at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, students will see a wide variety of patients including women and men of all ages, children from birth to adolescence, and women followed for prenatal care. The focus of the rotation is on providing students with an experience reflective of the ideals of family medicine, including an emphasis on wellness and prevention, continuity, compassion, and evidence based medicine.
Additionally, we focus on training young physicians to be life-long learners and effective teachers. Students will also gain experience using an innovative, sophisticated electronic medical record. Students are expected to attend and participate in Santa Rosa’s robust didactic program during their six weeks, including lectures, seminars and clinical presentations. Students interact with and are supervised by a variety of family medicine faculty and residents.
