The University Family Health Center-Southwest was the first of the University Health System's neighborhood primary care centers. In November 1994, the center's $6.1 million facility opened for medical services. The Southwest clinic is dedicated to being a medical home for the whole family.

The physicians and staff at Southwest clinic are professionals dedicated to the delivery of quality family health care services in partnership with our community. As a member of the University Health System's family of health care facilities, Southwest is committed to improving the health of the community that surrounds it. By providing excellent, efficient and accessible health care in a comfortable, caring environment, the Southwest clinic serves to create a life-long relationship with families and ensures the well-being of the men, women and children.

Students are exposed to a mix of patients ranging from Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Geriatrics and Adults. Practitioners at the clinic concentrate on educating all patients on health related issues, such as hypertension and diabetes. Majority of patient panel is Hispanic. Great opportunity for students to develop and use bilingual skills. Students will be supervised by a variety of family medicine faculty.
