How To Apply

Our interview season extends from November through January. Our deadline for receiving applications through ERAS is January 9th, 2009.

 

Interviews are offered only after review of your application and supporting materials through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). No paper applications will be accepted. The number of interview slots are limited, so please submit your application materials as early as possible.

 

Please use the following guidelines to complete your application:

  1. Completed online ERAS application.
  2. Dean's letter from your medical school.
  3. Three letters of recommendation from physicians whom you worked with during your training.
  4. A recent photograph.
  5. Personal statement detailing your interest in Family Medicine as your career specialty.
  6. Reports of your USMLE scores from USMLE (requires a fee paid by student) OR COMLEX scores for osteopathic students.
  7. Medical School Transcript

Additional guidelines for International Medical Graduates (IMGs):
IMG requirements are the same as US graduates. The following are also considered:

  1. Eligible for licensure in Texas.
  2. ECFMG certified.
  3. Permanent residency status.
  4. Passing USLME steps 1 and 2 (cs and ck) in three attempts or less.
    Completion of step 3 favorable, but not required.
  5. Current clinical experience, preferably in the United States, within the last year.
  6. The ability to demonstrate a true commitment to Family Medicine.
